The Participatory Research Map highlights a wide range of participatory research projects in the Berlin research area. Participatory Research encompasses activities at multiple levels in which the public participates in science, including citizen science, living lab, patient engagement, collaborative action research, transdisciplinary research.

The map was developed by first identifying potential participatory projects in the Berlin research area, then collecting data using a survey reaching out via email and newsletter invitations and finally compiling and mapping the information for accurate representation.
